What you need to know about Psoriatic Arthritis: Early Diagnosis can make a difference 🧠πŸ’ͺ

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic condition that can occur with individuals living with psoriasis, which is an autoimmune disease that tells the immune system to attack healthy skin cells in some cases and has the potential to attack the joints. It can be very overwhelming to navigate life living with this chronic condition and we are here to help at Greenfield Medical Centre.

PsA can occur across any age range, however, it most commonly occurs in the 30-50 year age range with males and females equally being affected. Symptoms can include joint pain, stiffness, swelling, skin lesions which can be uncomfortable, and these can commonly present during flares and/or remission phases.

An early diagnosis, combined with an effective treatment plan can help slow the progression of the disease, control symptomatic flares and ultimately retain quality of life. πŸ’š
